Sycamore
A massive tree reaching 75 to 90 feet in height, Sycamore has a rapid growth rate and tolerates wet and compacted soil. Its most ornamental trait is its white bark, which peels off in patches. Pyramidal in youth, it develops a spreading, rounded, or irregular crown with age, supported by a few very large diameter branches. Proper spacing and pruning help develop a strong structure, though it generally requires little corrective pruning beyond removing upright, aggressive branches with tight crotches.
