Bald Cypress
A fast-growing, long-lived deciduous conifer native to the southeastern U.S. The bald cypress is well-known for its ability to thrive in both wet and dry conditions, making it a popular choice for landscapes, streetscapes, and wetland restoration. When young, it has a symmetrical, pyramidal shape that broadens with age. Its soft, feathery green needles turn a brilliant coppery yellow in the fall before shedding, giving it its “bald” name. Even in winter, the tree remains visually striking with its reddish-gray, peeling bark.
